Are you as crazy over Costco grocery shopping as I am? You’re in the right place! I put together a Whole30 Costco shopping guide and list for you to see all the Whole30 compliant and Whole30 approved meat, seafood, pantry staples, condiments, and more for your shopping list at Costco, complete with the ingredients and price of each item!
Whole30 Costco Grocery List
Okay, let’s do this! You can skip ahead to the following grocery categories:
Have you seen my other grocery guides?
Check out: Walmart, Kroger, and Target!
Whole30 Grocery Shopping Info
I say this often, but just please remember — Your groceries don’t have to be organic, non-gmo, plastic free, freshly picked, and kissed by a unicorn. Of course, all of those options are wonderful, but it’s not feasible for most of us.
Choose your groceries based on what you can afford and what’s available, and keep it moving .
Remember, ALL fruits, veggies, nuts, meat, eggs, and seafood are compliant, as long as they don’t have anything non-compliant added to it. So the .89 cent/dozen eggs are TOTALLY compliant, and the regular ground beef is cool too!
One other helpful tip: Focus on what you can have, instead of what you cannot. A huge variety of real foods are available to us here in the US, even when we’re on a budget, and that’s quite a privilege.
Most importantly, always check and double check your ingredients labels to make sure your groceries are Whole30 compliant!
Whole30 Meat, Seafood, and Eggs at Costco
One of the best things you can do is keep your fridge and freezer stocked with easy and versatile proteins. Costco did NOT disappoint here. Check out all the Whole30 options and add some to your shopping list for the week!

Kathy says
Hi Laura,
Thanks so much for the effort you put into your blog and the Costco Whole30 compliant foods list you just published. I think you may have overlooked the sugar that is listed for the Kirkland Low Sodium Bacon. Sadly, this makes it non-compliant. It’s so hard to find compliant bacon that doesn’t cost a fortune! Maybe Costco will step up their game even more and offer a compliant bacon. We can hope!
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Kathy! Thank you so much for your kind words. I actually just pulled a package of it out of my fridge, and there is no sugar listed in the ingredients label. I will update the post now with a photo of it so you can see what I see! I’m happy to see compliant bacon available!
Marissa Alonso says
So many great options I didn’t realize were available! Thanks! The only thing I noticed was sugar was listed as an ingredient on the low sodium bacon you shared. Are there any sugar free options at Costco?
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Marissa! I just updated the post to show a photo of the bacon ingredients label – no sugar is listed! Hurray!!!
Thursday Beebe says
Thanks so much for this list! Can you elaborate on “blending and freezing” garlic? I’d like to learn more and try this. I love garlic!
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi! Yes, absolutely! I add about 1 – 1.5 cups of peeled garlic cloves to my blender and pulse it until it’s broken down (but not soupy). Transfer the mixture to a zip lock freezer bag, squeeze all the air out, and close it. Then lay the bag flat on your counter and press the garlic mixture so it’s thin and flat like a pancake inside the bag. Lay it down inside the freezer and freeze it that way. Now, whenever you need garlic, just crack a small piece off, close the bag up, and put it back in the freezer. You can also freeze the mixture it in ice cube trays, but I find this way to be a little faster. Let me know if that makes sense or not – At some point I’ll write up a full blog post with photos and step by step instructions. Stay tuned! -Laura
Robbin Thomas says
Great list, thank you! You had a lot on there that I didn’t know Costco offered. This will be very helpful!
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Robbin! I’m so glad it was helpful. Let me know if you find anything I missed on your next Costco trip! -Laura
Toni says
Thanks so much for this post I had been debating to join Costco or just stick with Sams. Now that I see all the posting you placed here, I have requested a one day free pass to see if our Costco has the major of these wonderful fines. If is does it would be to my benefit to join as our Sams is very limited in its selection.
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Toni! I’m so glad this post has been helpful for you! I’ve been a member of Sam’s club in the past and it’s nice for things like toilet paper and laundry soap, but Costco definitely takes the prize for groceries! I’d love to hear what your thoughts are after you use your day pass! -Laura
Elizabeth says
I am really hoping my new Costco (opening March 12) will have these things.

I have bought frozen avocados and they are quite good. Also I buy the bags of sliced olives that I put in the freezer and pull out as needed. This is an awesome list. I likes how you added the pictures along with it.
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Shelley! I’ve heard of those frozen avocados, but they didn’t have them at my store! I’d love to know how you use them! And those olives sound great too. Thanks for sharing! -Laura
Shelley Pedersen says
I mainly use them for my eggs in the morning to make sure and get plenty of good fats
Cook at Home Mom says
Oh, yum! As soon as they pop up in my store, I’m going to grab a bag!
desiree call says
This is a great list! On my trip a couple of months ago I saw frozen avocado halves. On my trip last month I didn’t see it but I really didn’t look in the frezzer section to well. Maybe it was a one time thing and with the holiday season coming up Costco temporarily took it off the shelf. It’s worth a look for anyone interested.
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Desiree! WOW! Frozen avocados sound amazing – I will have to check next time I’m there and see if I can find them at my location. -Laura

Wow! So many of these items I haven’t even looked closely at because I just assumed they wouldn’t be Whole30 compliant (Polish sausage? Who’da thought?). BTW, Costco also sells huge Envy apples that are to die for. We cut them up for an evening snack and plop a spoonful of NuttZo nut butter for dipping on the plate. Sooo satisfying! Thanks again for putting this together. Incredibly helpful!
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Pam, I’m so glad it was helpful! I’m going to look for those Envy apples next time I’m there — they sound fabulous!! -Laura
Betsy Baker says
Thank for all the time and effort spent on Costco list. We’re on day 21 of whole30. First trip to Costco I was there for 3 HOURS!! UGH.. this is so much simpler. I belong to Sam’s , Whole Foods is 3 miles away, and Sprouts is 5 miles away. I’m relieved to spend less hours there again. I LOVE your info. & recipes too. I got an Air fryer for Christmas and not tried it yet. Hoping I can do something different. This whole30 was a challenge to us, but I feel better than I have in years! Husband cheated, weighed himself, and is at date weight! EGADS!! I am not looking til day 31! Hopefully, I dropped enough to be encouraged.
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Betsy, I’m so glad it’s helpful for you! Costco is a great store but it is super overwhelming to have to read the ingredients labels on EVERY SINGLE THING. And I thought I’d share a quick word of advice since you mentioned it — before you weigh yourself at the end of your Whole30, write down ALL the non scale victories you experienced this month. You said you feel better than you have in years… are you sleeping better, do you have more energy, do you feel less bloated, more confident? Whatever those victories are, write them down, celebrate them, and try not to let the number be the only thing you focus on. 🙂 -Laura
Nanc says
Hi, do you know if the Kirkland corned beef is whole30 compliant?
Cook at Home Mom says
Hi Nanc, I haven’t checked it myself in person, and I can’t find an ingredients list online. If you’re able to send me the ingredients, I’d be happy to confirm whether or not it’s compatible! -Laura
Mary says
You have no idea how happy I am that I stumbled upon your website. I’m starting Whole30 on May 1 and have been pretty overwhelmed with all the research. I didn’t even consider consider Costco. Thank you so much! I’m printing all your recommendations and shopping at Costco this weekend!

Hi Mary! You have no idea how happy this makes me!! I hope the trip to Costco goes great — I’m always so excited to find so many compatible goodies there! Let me know if you find anything new or different! 🙂 -Laura
