About Cook at Home Mom

If the 5 o’clock “what’s for dinner?” panic feels way too familiar, you’re in exactly the right place.

Cook at Home Mom is your go-to resource for wholesome, family-friendly weeknight dinners. The kind that come together without a ton of stress, don’t require a culinary degree, and actually get eaten by everyone at the table.

This isn’t about following a rigid meal plan or overhauling your entire kitchen. It’s about building a reliable library of go-to dinners that work for your family, on your schedule, on a regular Tuesday night.

Behind the Blog

Hi, I’m Madison Wetherill, the recipe developer, food blogger, and the mama behind Cook at Home Mom. After growing up not cooking at all, I have now cooked more weeknight dinners than I can count in the name of figuring out what actually works for busy families.

I’ve been creating and testing family dinner recipes for over 14 years, with a library of 700+ recipes between my two websites developed specifically around the real constraints of weeknight cooking: limited time, picky eaters, and a fridge that somehow never has exactly what the recipe calls for.

I’m a homeschooling mom of three boys in Arizona, which means dinner around here is a full-contact sport. That experience is exactly the reason every recipe on this site gets tested against real-life family conditions before it ever goes live.

My cooking tips and recipes have been featured in publications including Redfin, NBC, Fox and Business Insider plus I’ve shared dinner strategies on The Well Nourished Mama, Beyond Better with Stacy Ennis, and 10+ other podcasts focused on family life and healthy eating.

What Cook at Home Mom Is All About

The dinner problem isn’t really a cooking problem. It’s a decision fatigue problem.

Most families aren’t struggling because they lack skill or motivation. They’re stuck in a rotation of the same five meals because building variety feels overwhelming. Cook at Home Mom exists to solve that.

Here you’ll find:

  • Weeknight dinner recipes built around real time constraints — most under 30–45 minutes, many using tools like the air fryer, sheet pan, slow cooker, and Instant Pot
  • Practical meal prep strategies so you spend less mental energy on the dinner question every single day
  • Flavor-forward, wholesome recipes the whole family will actually eat.

The philosophy here is simple: healthy eating should simplify your life, not complicate it. Balance over perfection, always.

A Note On Our History:
Cook at Home Mom was originally founded by Laura Miner. Madison Wetherill took over ownership of the blog in 2023 and has led the brand’s content and recipe development since then. The current site reflects Madison’s approach to weeknight cooking and family dinners.
