In this post I’ve rounded up every Whole30 approved and compliant ketchup brand that I could find, meaning they’re all sugar free, made with no sweeteners or sugar substitutes added, and definitely nothing or artificial, either! I’m also sharing where you can buy each brand!

Why, you ask? Because ketchup is everybody’s favorite condiment! You use it on hot dogs, eggs, burgers, fries, and more, so you can’t (and you shouldn’t have to) attempt your sugar free life or Whole30 without it.
What to watch for:
- Beware of sneaky ingredients in “sugar free” or “natural” ketchup brands!
I’ve seen ingredients like sucralose, erythritol, stevia, or corn starch on some ketchup labels, which would make them non-compliant. Always check those labels!
Whole30 Approved Ketchup Brands:
All of these ketchups have the official seal of approval from the Whole30 team! When you see the Whole30 Approved logo on the bottle, you can just grab and go. I know I literally just said you need to always check your labels, but if you see an official Whole30 Approved logo, that’s the exception. It’s the only time you don’t have to check your labels, woo hoo!
Primal Kitchen Foods
This is probably my personal favorite Whole30 approved ketchup. It’s about the closest thing to Heinz as you can possibly get on Whole30. They have an organic unsweetened ketchup and a sugar free spicy ketchup, too, which I have yet to try but it’s on my list!
Ingredients: Organic Tomato Concentrate, Organic Balsamic, Less than 2% of Salt, Organic Onion Powder, Organic Garlic Powder, Organic Spices
- Buy on Amazon, through their online store (use code COOK for 10% off) or check out their store locator.
Good Food For Good
Good Food For Good is Whole30 Approved ketchup that’s organic, and it comes in Spicy and Original flavors. I absolutely adore the spicy ketchup! As a bonus, it’s available in Canada and the US!
Ingredients: Organic Tomato Paste (made from fresh ripe tomatoes), Water, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Date Paste, Organic Onion Powder, Sea Salt, Organic Garlic Powder, Organic Spices (Mustard Powder, All Spice, Ginger, Clove, Black Pepper).
I really, really like Tessemae’s salad dressings, but this isn’t my favorite Whole30 Approved ketchup. It tastes a lot like the homemade ketchup in the Whole30 book. It’s not bad, but it’s thick and a little earthier in flavor than I’d prefer.
Ingredients: Water, white balsamic vinegar (wine vinegar, concentrated grape must), tomato paste, dates, sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder.
The New Primal
I haven’t tried this one myself because it’s brand spankin’ new, but I like the other sauces from TNP that I’ve tried before. Have you had it? Let me know what you think of it in the comments below!
Ingredients: Water, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice concentrate, sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder, allspice, clove.
- Buy through their online store.
Whole30 Compliant Ketchup Brands:
Now this next round of ketchup brands are Whole30 compliant, meaning the ingredients meet the requirements of the Whole30 program, but they don’t have the official seal of approval.
True Made Foods Vegetable Ketchup
I really like this brand. Most of their line of sauces seem to have veggies added and are made with all whole, clean ingredients, so many are Whole30 compliant, although some do contain cane sugar. This vegetable ketchup comes in a plastic squeeze bottle (pictured) OR glass bottle.
It definitely has a vegetable taste, so if you already struggle with veggies this might not be for you. If you’re like me and you really enjoy hearty veggie flavor, you just might love it!
*They have Whole30 compliant sriracha, too, if you’re interested in that!
Ingredients: Tomato puree (water, tomato paste), apple, vegetable puree (carrot, butternut squash, spinach), vinegar, salt, onion powder, allspice.
Mother Raw Organic Ketchup
I’m not sure why they call it ketchup-style instead of regular ketchup, because it seems to pretty much be exactly the same ingredients as the other ketchups, but it looks good to me!
Ingredients: Tomato puree (tomato paste, filtered water), Date puree (filtered water, whole pitted dates), Unfiltered apple cider vinegar, Diced tomatoes, Gray sea salt, Minced onion, Beet root powder, Paprika, Black pepper, Allspice.
- Buy through their online store (must buy at least 3 products)
Dr. Furman Ketchup
I’ll be honest, I’d never heard of this ketchup brand before I started researching for this post! But it sounds great and has plenty of positive reviews. It also has no salt added, which is important for some people. I think I’ll buy some to try next time I’m low on ketchup!
Ingredients: Water, Organic Tomatoes, Organic Dates, Organic Rice Vinegar, Organic Onion Powder, Organic Garlic Powder, Organic Allspice.
So there we have it! Every refined sugar free, Whole30 Approved and Whole30 compliant ketchup brand I could find, all made with no sugar or sugar substitutes added. Wow. I might need to make some fries!
