Air fry the wings for 18-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The wings should be golden brown and crispy on the outside. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.

How to Store Leftover Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Place leftover air fryer chicken wings into an airtight container and allow them to cool completely before putting the lid on. This will prevent condensation from growing in the container and making the wings soggy. If you need to stack the wings, place parchment paper in between the layers.

Refrigerate the wings for 3-4 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.

To reheat, place the wings back into the air fryer to help crisp up the skin. You can also use a conventional oven to reheat.

Tips for Success

While I love smoked chicken wings, it’s just so easy to cook them in the air fryer! Check these basic tips to have the best air fryer chicken wings every single time:

  • Depending on the size of your wings, they may need some extra cooking time. To ensure they are fully cooked, make sure that you use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Air fryers cook by circulating hot air around the food, so if you overload it then the food may not evenly cook.
  • Let you chicken wings rest before serving so that the juices have time to settle and the chicken can cool a bit. This is key to making the juiciest wings!

FAQ

Do wings need to be flipped in the air fryer?

Yes! In order for the wings to cook fully and get crispy on both side you need to flip them halfway through. You can either shake the basket or use a pair of tongs and flip each individual chicken wing over.

Can you stack raw wings in the air fryer?

Technically you can, but it is not recommended. For the best results, place the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer so that the hot air can circulate evenly around all of the chicken wings.
