1tablespoonolive oil
1teaspoonkosher salt
½teaspoonground black pepper
2tablespoonssalted buttersoftened
2teaspoonsfresh parsleychopped
½teaspoongarlic powder
Instructions
Set the steaks on a plate and let them come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
Set the air fryer to 400℉ (200℃) so it can preheat while you prepare the filet mignon.
Use paper towels to pat the steaks dry. Coat both sides of the beef with olive oil, then season on both sides with salt and pepper.
Arrange the steaks in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them so the air and heat can circulate.
Close the basket and air fry for 5 minutes. Open the basket and use tongs to flip the steaks over. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes, then use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For a medium rare filet mignon, the internal temperature should be 130°F (55°C). For a steak cooked to medium, cook an additional 2 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
While the filet mignon is in the air fryer, combine the soft butter, chopped parsley, and garlic powder in a small bowl, mixing until thoroughly combined.
When the steak is cooked to your liking, remove from the air fryer and transfer to a plate. Top with parsley butter and let the steaks rest for 10 minutes. Slice meat against the grain and serve.
Notes
Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may be able to cook up to 4 filet mignon in the air fryer at the same time.
You don’t have to make the herb butter, but it adds a delicious flavor to the steak.
For food safety reasons, the USDA recommends cooking steak to a minimum internal temperature of 145°F (62.8°C)
Depending on how you like your steaks, cook them according to these times and temperatures:
