Brown the pork

Add the sauerkraut to the dutch oven. Use a wooden spoon to gently scrape the bottom of the dutch oven and deglaze the pan.
Add the potatoes

Set the potatoes and apples (if using) in the dutch oven. Gently mix together the potatoes, apples, and sauerkraut.
