Ingredients Notes
- Use prepared horseradish (found in a glass jar) and not raw horseradish. Prepared horseradish can be found in the refrigerated aisle at your local grocery store, or you can make homemade prepared horseradish. Prepared horseradish is much milder than raw horseradish, but still full of that unmistakable horseradish flavor zing!
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice will have more flavor than bottled lemon juice, which is made from concentrate and then preserved with additives.
- To keep this recipe Whole30, use compatible mayo.
- You’ll be able to flavor the aioli to your tastes. Like a little more zing? Simply double the horseradish!
- Optionally, serve garnished with sliced green onions.
Instructions

Step 1: Grab your ingredients and measure out each one.
Add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, horseradish, mustard, and seasonings to a medium bowl.

Step 2: Whisk the ingredients together until it’s fully combined and smooth. There shouldn’t be any lumps or clumps.
Taste the aioli and season based on your preferences. To increase flavor, you can stir in a little more lemon juice, horseradish, or salt, depending on what you like.

Expert Tips & Info
- For the best taste, make the sauce a few hours to two days in advance to allow the flavors to meld together a bit. Simply store the aioli covered in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve it.
- To thin the consistency of aioli, whisk one teaspoon of lemon juice into the mixture until smooth.
- It can be refrigerated for up to a week. Simply keep it covered in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use it, then give it a quick stir before serving.
- Serve horseradish aioli with fries or roasted vegetables, or on burgers, sandwiches, and wraps. I love it as a dipping sauce for crispy kielbasa bites or with parsnip fries (pictured below), baby potatoes, or roasted broccoli!
